It is now fall and it has been a long and productive season, and for that we thank our guests. We wish that all will have a safe and happy holiday, and a blessed New Year.
We are already planning some new features when we begin our new season, {we are never closed}, so keep us in mind for the winter season.
I will be posting all the recipes that were requested this season on this blog, so keep watching.
We have a new cookbook in the works and will be doing our normal winter dinning starting in November.

Apple French Toast
Apple French Toast
Fall is coming and so is the delectable taste of Apple French Toast.
Serves 8-10
Ingredients:
French Bread, homemade is best or good bakery.
1-cup brown sugar
1-cup butter
2 tablespoons corn syrup or maple syrup
1-granny Smith apples prep in advance
8-egg
¾ cups milk
½ cup of cream for recipe
1 teaspoon real vanilla
1-teaspoon cinnamon
½ teaspoon of nutmeg
¾ cup thick cream for whipping and topping.
Directions:
Make this dish the night before.(1) Place in medium saucepan, butter and melt. Add brown sugar and corn or maple syrup. (2) Cook on medium high heat until brown sugar is melted and mixture has bubbled for about 10 minutes, stir mixture. (3) Pour and spread mixture into 9X13 inch casserole dish {preferably glass}. (4) Peel and cut apples into medium thin slices, which is about 1/8 inch. (5) Place apple slices on top of mixture in dish. Make sure to cover the entire bottom of the dish. (6) Cut bread into ½ inch slices then cut slices into fourths. Place bread slices on top of apples. (7) In bow, whip eggs till all yokes are broken. (8) Add cream to a sauté pan and boil for three minutes, then add vanilla and milk. Whip together with a whisk.(9) Pour mixture over bread ensuring that all pieces get soaked. Place plastic wrap over the dish, covering tightly. Put in refrigerator over night. In the morning, place dish in preheated 350*F oven for about 45 minutes or till done there will be a rich browning of the bread. Serve warm with wipe cream and warm syrup.

Your Recipe Request

In answer to many request that we get at The White House B&B, I will sending out the recipes on my blog it will be faster
I will send the breakfast recipes that we serve and also the dinner recipes that we serve in the fall and spring. The recipes that I post, will be because of requests, if you have interest in any other I may have just contact me. Enjoy.
WHITE HOUSE BAKED OATMAEL
3 - cups oatmeal (old fashioned rolled oats, not “quick”)
¾ - cups brown sugar
½ - cup butter
2 - eggs
2 - cups milk
2 - teaspoons baking powder
1 - teaspoon salt
¼ - teaspoon cinnamon
1 - can any flavor pie filling (optional)
dried fruits and/or nuts (optional)
Mix all ingredients together and pour into a buttered 9x13 inch pan. May also be baked in individual serving sized ramekins.
Note: may be mixed up the night before and then baked off the next morning; stir before transferring to baking containers.
Bake at 375 degrees for 25 minutes.

We Loved Every Minute !
Hi Bob and Terry,
Just wanted to send you (finally) a few of the many photos I took when my sister and I stayed at The White House in June........we loved every minute of our stay(s)- and especially the two of you! You are two very special guys and it's no wonder that you have made your B&B such a welcoming, comfortable and beautiful place. Not to mention that between the two of you, you can do ANYTHING! I'm so impressed with your many talents, but mostly with the goodness and kindness within that shines through so clearly. The gourmet breakfasts were delightful and your garden was an inspiration. If and when our hectic lives ever calm down, we want to plan a future visit - Belfast is such a beguiling place.

Beautiful Belfast Maine
Located in the beautiful Mid-coast region of Maine Belfast sits on scenic Passagassawakeag River and the Penobscot Bay. Belfast has five gateways leading the adventurous from the sea to the wilderness and mountains beyond.
The historic town with its beautiful homes are an attraction for summer travelers. If you are visiting us you can take a boat ride and enjoy scenes of Maine's magnificent coast, swim in the bay, Lake St. George or Swan Lake.
One can visit the area's six state parks for hiking or bikeing. Shops abound and we have may art galleries and antique shops. One must spend some time with us to enjoy our town, don't rush, we don't.
So if you want cultural treasures, maritime traditon, fresh salt air, autumn color, summer green, or winter white, come see us.
